2/25/10
Back in 2006 I saw one of the best burlesque shows in Provincetown. As of late, Connecticut is representin’ itself on the scene as well. Though some of the girls are previously well known models, they are jumpin’ on the burlesque band wagon and it’s a good thing. Good for the area and good for the spectators alike, tee hee. Traditional Burlesque is not nude by the way, but if that un-pealing of fabric happens who’s to complain, really? With my craftin’ background and vintage appreciation, I’ve contemplated jumping on the pasty makin’ band wagon. Who wouldn’t want to have my own handmade nipple covers on them? What a superb way of introducing myself, “Hi, I’m LL and I made those” (while pointing toward the rack of some sweetheart). Can’t wait! Hope to see you out n about, don’t forget to send me your gig dates. Keep supporting local artisans, musicians and organic farmers! Xo ~LL~

2/18/10 LL’s LIST

Have you ever written a simple list of things and/or people you appreciate? I used to do this years ago in my journal every other week or so. It’s interesting to not only read journal entries from the past during your life, but also these lists of “thanks” that were so meaningful at the time change soo much!

Do a top ten, if even it’s only appreciating the homemade oatmeal with berries and almonds that you had for breakfast. It helps put things into perspective, like what is important and help you realize that priority changes all the time. The lists will really represent your mood at the moment! And it would be cool to look back and then realize how far you’ve come along.

It’s been said that when you have déjà vu, you are on the correct path in life. I haven’t had déjà vu in a couple of years now (due to injuries, I’m sure) and I’m hoping these top 10 lists I jot down will be another useful tool to guide the journey forward. I’ve always pursued my business & life goals, but occasionally the bio-rhythm slips and you need a friendly reminder that excitement and a new-ness is around the corner.

Come have some déjà vu with me along with a bunch of others tonight @ RAW’s monthly Creative Cocktail Hour. Lots of other things happening too see below and I hope to see you out ‘n about!

2/12/2010 Year of the Tiger

In Uncategorized on February 13, 2010 at 5:44 am

2010 I think has been bringing many different types of change to many of us. I think another surge is due, and it’s to begin on the official Chinese New Year which this year is on Valentine’s Day. Hoping not to frighten anyone, I just think surges are a natural happening which help us recognize what is not working. It’s like an Outlook reminder that your new appointment overlaps another. It’s like walking off our preferred path, sometimes you need guidance like a trail marker, advice from a fellow hiker that warns us of the upcoming nest of snakes or weather change to force us to leave. In real life these are representative of many things in our lives. Death IS a new beginning, it’s NOT corny to believe this. I have always thought this and I embrace change wholeheartedly. My goal as of late is to not become bitter but BETTER! I can see my circle of friends has increased in QUALITY and I realize that sometimes through the jerks come the sincere. I hope you will take time this weekend to tell someone from the heart how much you appreciate them. It doesn’t have to be a lover or a family member. Tell someone that has always been honest with you how much you appreciate their input and friendship. That is what Valentine’s Day is about! Cheers everyone – hope to see you out n about! Keep supporting local musicians, artisans and local farmers! ~LL
P.S. Thought of the week: I wondered about the dvd area in the library I go to, it placed horror flicks with show tunes combined in the same section. What are your thoughts on why this happened? Can someone suggest a horror show tune for me, I’d love that!
